Google offers free e-book on smartphone photography
For a limited time only, "Android Photography: Take Better Pictures with your Android Phone or Tablet," Colby Brown's reference text which covers everything from the best way to hold a phone for capturing images, optimal settings adjustment and the best third-party photography apps, is available as a free download on the Google Play store.
In order to take advantage of the offer consumers will still need to have a credit card associated with their Google Wallet accounts to ensure the 104-page tome is downloaded to the right device.
The special offer went live late on Thursday, just as Nokia CEO Stephen Elop was completing his live launch presentation for the company's latest flagship phone, the Lumia 1020.
The device is the first in the world to feature a 41-megapixel backside image sensor and, as a result, is capable of capturing photographs with exceptional detail and at huge sizes. In fact its performance is on a par with professional DSLR cameras as well as anything currently available on the smartphone market.
